General information about Saudia Airlines

Saudi Arabian Airlines, also known as “Saudia” is the national Airline of Saudi Arabia. It is the third largest airline in the Middle East regarding revenue collection, behind Emirates and Qatar Airways. Day by day, the Airline spread out its comprehensive air route over 85 destinations across Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, and North America and proudly achieved noticeable awards for its world-class services.

The main operational Hub of this airline is at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and secondary Hubs are at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. It operates both special domestic and international Air charter mostly during the Ramadan and the Hajj season.

Saudia begins with the Douglas DC-3 air transport as a gift from the U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1945 and establishes as Saudi Arabian Airlines on September 1945. In 1948, they received five Bristol 170s aircraft and enhance the flexibility of carrying both passengers and cargo. From 1962 to 1990 this airline added multiple Jumbo Jets, various Boeing services, Cargo services and new destinations internationally.

Recently Saudi Arabian Airlines received 64 new jets and 8 Boeing Boeing 787-9 aircraft by the end of 2015. In April 2016, Saudia launched Flyadeal (Saudi lo- cost Airline) that serves domestic and regional destinations. Moreover, Saudia also offers different aircraft as Private Aviation, Special Flight Services, VIP flights, and training purpose.

Baggage Information of Saudi Arabian Airlines:

There is a limitation for both the quantity and the weight of each baggage. According to basic booking a passenger of Economy class can carry up to 23 kgs of single luggage where Business class allows 32 kgs of luggage. On the other hand, for flex booking, both Business and Economy class offers to carry 2 luggage of 23 kgs weight and business class allows for each passenger.

A first-class passenger can carry out 32 kgs of single luggage in regular baggage. Saudi Airlines Cabin baggage allows 7 kgs for Economy class and 9 kgs for Business and first class passengers. An Infant Baggage allows 9 kgs of cabin baggage for business class, first class, and economy class.
